Building better projects: conversations from the APM conference floor

We had the pleasure of attending the APM Project Management Conference 2025 at Coventry Building Society Arena, joining the event with a dual presence, as exhibitors and speakers.

The conference brought together the P3M community from across sectors, offering a brilliant space for reflection, connection, and challenge around the future of project and programme delivery.

At our stand, we invited attendees to take part in a live poll on their biggest change delivery challenges. With over 200 votes cast, the results highlighted just how common some of these barriers are:

  • Getting decisions made effectively and efficiently – 25.3%
  • Getting the right data to drive decision making – 25.2%
  • Making changes that stick – 25.1%
  • Demonstrating the value of my projects and programmes – 24.4%

These insights sparked great conversations at the stand, from how to secure buy-in and navigate complexity, to using data and assurance more strategically to enable confident decision making.

We also had the privilege of contributing to the speaker programme, with our people Ellie Cady and Suzanne Maxted leading a session on assessing project contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The session explored practical ways to align delivery with global impact, a timely and important discussion as sustainability moves up the agenda for many organisations.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the stand or joined the session, and to APM for hosting such a valuable event. We’re looking forward to continuing the conversations
