Meet Hattie Dawson: Driving Culture, Connection, and Change at Methods

"Culture eats strategy for breakfast - but Internal Comms makes them work together."

Organisations today are navigating rapid and continuous change - structural, digital, and cultural. As priorities shift and new ways of working bed in, communication has become a strategic capability rather than a supporting function. Culture is now a defining differentiator, and the way businesses communicate is central to shaping it.

Against that backdrop, Methods is pleased to welcome Hattie Dawson as our new Internal Communications Executive.

Hattie joins with significant experience in complex, fast-moving environments, having led Internal Communications at Matchtech (Gattaca plc) for the past five years. Her work has centred on supporting business-wide transformation, building clarity and alignment during uncertainty, and shaping communication that is purposeful, people-focused, and grounded in organisational reality.

Her appointment comes at a pivotal moment for Methods, as the business continues its own period of evolution. Hattie’s background in steering teams through change positions her well to help strengthen the connection between strategy, culture, and the lived experience of colleagues across the organisation.

Reflecting on her philosophy and the role Internal Comms plays in shaping organisational momentum, Hattie shares:

“In Internal Comms we always loop back to the phrase ‘culture eats strategy for breakfast’. And while that’s true in a lot of ways, the reality is you can’t have one without the other, they should have a seat at the same table. They feed off each other."

Internal Comms is the vehicle for that connection. How can we expect our colleagues to engage with strategy, feel passionate about it, and embed it into their day-to-day if they haven’t been adequately informed on it, or if the strategy wasn’t built with both cultural and business drivers in mind?

Transformation can feel challenging, but it’s also the perfect opportunity to create positive, lasting change. My role is to connect colleagues to one another and to the wider purpose we’re building.”

Hattie’s arrival marks another important step in strengthening how we communicate, connect, and evolve as an organisation.
