In June 2024, we developed our Critical Thinking Masterclass in conjunction with HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS), and successfully delivered it to HMCTS Digital and Technology Services (DTS) DigiOps staff.

Due to its success, this year we have expanded to include a new Masterclass in Communication and Engagement, making the sessions widely available across the DTS landscape.

The first sessions on Critical Thinking launched last week, led by Nukey Proctor. These masterclasses explored the foundations of critical thinking and tools to drive problem-solving in a world of learned routine. Nukey discussed the importance of curiosity, analysed the concept of ‘analysis’, and discussed industry-recognised techniques to facilitate critical thinking.

The second phase of the series, beginning this week, features Communications and Engagement masterclasses, and will be conducted in-person at HMCTS facilities in Leeds, Birmingham, and London, by industry experts Emmy Goldby and Vian Al-Gailani. They will explore the art of communication, organisational culture, emotional intelligence, resilience and how to approach crucial conversation mindfully. They will also look at tools to enable good communication in the workplace.

This initiative represents our ongoing commitment to staff development and organisational excellence in the judicial services sector. The series' expansion follows positive feedback from the initial June 2024 sessions and demonstrates the HMCTS' investment in building a more skilled and adaptable workforce.
