Methods' recent shortlisting as a finalist in the Outstanding Security Training Initiative category at the prestigious Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs), is testament to our ongoing development of innovative and impactful security training solutions that address the evolving challenges of the cyber security landscape.
Our nomination highlights the success of the GRAVITATE Cyber Academy, an initiative launched in 2023 to meet the growing demand for cyber security expertise. Designed to foster a diverse, inclusive workforce, the programme provides tailored training for Graduates, Returners, Apprentices, Veterans, Interns, and those transitioning into technology and transformation careers.
The GRAVITATE Cyber Academy stands out for its:
- Blended learning approach: Combining theoretical knowledge with practical, problem-based learning ensures participants can apply skills effectively in real-world scenarios.
- Diverse recruitment: A collaborative effort with HR, Recruitment, and external stakeholders like the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) enables us to attract talent with diverse backgrounds, including ex-military personnel.
- Real-world integration: Participants benefit from work placement shadowing and mentorship from experienced consultants, providing hands-on exposure to security challenges and best practices.
- Industry certification: The programme aligns with industry-recognised exams, laying a strong foundation for participants' future career development.
Since its inception, the GRAVITATE Cyber Academy has successfully run two cohorts, onboarding 16 Cyber Security Consultants who are now contributing to real-world engagements across various sectors. Graduates have demonstrated exceptional performance, taking on leadership roles, driving innovation, and enhancing security capabilities for our clients.
This nomination reflects the significant impact of the GRAVITATE Cyber Academy in advancing security standards and empowering professionals to tackle emerging threats. The programme not only addresses the cyber security skills gap but also fosters a culture of excellence and innovation within Methods and the wider industry.
We are proud to have created a programme that champions inclusivity, nurtures talent, and supports the career aspirations of early-career professionals. Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant, recognised with a Gold Award, further underscores our dedication to supporting veterans and helping them transition into fulfilling roles in cyber security.
