Methods and HMCTS expand professional development programme with new masterclass series

Following the successful delivery of our Critical Thinking Masterclass developed in conjunction with HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS), three of our people are launching a comprehensive professional development initiative following the successful implementation of the programme for HMCTS Digital and Technology Services (DTS) DigiOps staff in June 2024.

The expanded programme features two distinct training sessions. The first session, launching this week, consists of virtual Critical Thinking Masterclasses led by Nukey Proctor. These masterclasses will explore the foundations of critical thinking and tools to drive problem-solving in a world of learned routine. Nukey will be discussing the importance of curiosity, analyse the concept of ‘analysis’, and discuss industry-recognised techniques to enable critical thinking.

The second session features Communications and Engagement Masterclasses and will be conducted in-person at HMCTS facilities in Leeds, Birmingham, and London, by industry experts Emmy Goldby and Vian Al-Gailani. They will explore the art of communication, how it influences organisational culture; and what it means to be emotionally intelligent, how to build resilience, and approach crucial conversation mindfully. They will also look at tools to enable good communication in the workplace.

This initiative represents our ongoing commitment to staff development and organisational excellence in the judicial services sector. The programme's expansion follows positive feedback from the initial June 2024 sessions and demonstrates the HMCTS' investment in building a more skilled and adaptable workforce.
