Kicking off our Q&A Series with some of our wonderful women at Methods, we are talking to Ramola, Senior Project Manager, and data and digital transformation extraordinaire...

Q. What inspired you to pursue a career in tech and how has your journey led to your current role?

I have always been interested in innovation - looking ahead to where our future takes us - and technology is at the helm of the change we see around us today. In my previous roles I have worked on projects involving future tech and digitising processes within local and central government which have an impact on the way people live, work, and travel. This led me to Methods, focusing on consulting projects for government and I am more than excited to contribute to the public sector digital and innovation landscape within the UK.

Q. What emerging technology and trends excite you the most and how do you see it shaping the future of the the industry?

I think the variations currently happening in generative AI is most exciting for me at the moment. It is clearly shaping the way we work, think, and produce outcomes in various facets of life, be it work or personal.  In the area in which I work, delivery management within the public sector industry, I see direct implications on the usage of Gen AI more as a supportive platform which can enable us to bring in efficiencies and productivity in some of the day to day tasks.

Q. What advice would you give to women starting a career in tech?

The world is changing very quickly and so is the tech industry. The need of the hour is people who can think differently and are able to be creative and logical and at the same time be able to bring together something that will work for everyone. A fine balance between nuance and vision. So no matter what you study, all knowledge is valued, and no matter what your previous experience is, there is always scope to make a difference in the ever changing tech world.

You can meet Ramola alongside many more of our wonderful people at the Women of Silicon Roundabout held at the ExCeL London on the 27th and 28th November. Find out more.
